Kirsten Linnabary's Portfolio
BME with heart.

Hello!
My name is Kirsten Linnabary, and I am a senior Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Cincinnati. I am from Columbus, Ohio, and I am an alumni of Gahanna Lincoln High School and Eastland-Fairfield's Bioscience Technologies Program. In high school, I earned third place in the capstone research competition for my project on the antibacterial properties of apple cider vinegar, and I volunteered at the US Geological Survey's microbiology lab. In the last years of high school, I found that I had two big passions in my life: science and literature.
Now that I am in college, those two passions still exist. As well as my major in Biomedical Engineering, I am also pursuing a Creative Writing Certificate. I love to write stories and novels, and I am in the process of submitting work to small literary journals. I have recently been published in two different journals, and I will continue to work towards getting my stories out there.
Also, I have previously done undergraduate research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, and I have completed three co-op rotations at Elite Biomedical Solutions. I am now working at Zimmer Biomet TMT in Parsippany, New Jersey in their Quality Engineering department. My time at all of these places has been great, and I hope that, in my time at Cincinnati, I will be able to explore everything that my major has to offer.
Extra-curricular wise, I am a member of Phi Sigma Rho, an engineering social sorority, and NOSH, which is a student ministry. Becoming a part of these groups has been a wonderful experience for me, and I hope to continue with these groups throughout my time in college.
In the future, my dream job would to be a novelist or a screenwriter. However, I am exploring other career fields that interest me, like materials, nano, and human factors engineering, as well as biomedical engineering-related jobs.
